Look for a reason it failed
Worn engine mounts, misaligned exhaust parts, impact damage, or excessive system strain can shorten flex-pipe life. Exterior braid damage is useful evidence, but sealing condition should also be assessed. A leak at a nearby flange may require a different repair from replacing the flexible section itself.

The affected section and surrounding pipe condition determine whether a component or larger assembly is needed. The replacement must fit without imposing unwanted tension. Supports, clearance, and related engine movement are considered during installation. Final checks address sealing and ensure the exhaust does not contact neighboring parts as the drivetrain moves.

Report whether the noise changes during acceleration and mention recent underbody impacts or mount repairs. If exhaust odor enters the cabin, stop safely and arrange assistance.
